Farm Building Renovation in Co. Sligo

This project was made possible by the Heritage Council's GLAS Traditional Farm Buildings Grant Scheme, providing up to 75% of the overall costs. The scheme encourages the rehabilitation of heritage barns and sheds for use in contemporary farming. 

There is a strong ethos of using appropriate conservation materials such as salvaged slate and lime mortars; intervening as much as necessary but as little as possible. Hot lime, a quicklime-based mortar, was specified to match the original as closely as possible.
